I’m Emily Erstad, a multi-passionate indie author, strategic leader, and soulful coach guiding others to live and lead with intention, clarity, and heart. As the author of It’s Not That Deep, I explore the intersections of emotion, identity, growth, and leadership through a deeply human lens.
With a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology and years of experience in therapy, healthcare leadership, and operations strategy, I bring both clinical insight and heart-centered leadership to my work. I currently serve as a Regional Operations Strategist and Executive Director in the hospice space, where I lead with empathy and vision.
As a trusted voice in Soulful Leadership, I blend emotional intelligence with strategic thinking to inspire others to lead from within. Whether coaching emerging leaders, writing words that resonate, or curating grounded spaces for growth, my presence invites honesty, depth, and transformation.
My Story
I am originally from the Midwest and relocated to Arizona four years ago on a travel contract. I was inspired to begin writing books as I have grown through my professional career. My writing began in journals evolved into a blog, and now has been published into a book. I write because I am looking for connection and depth of perspective from others going through challenges or who chasing their goals. I have noted a significant gap and leadership development relating to emotional intelligence when navigating your professional and personal life. Frequently, we are asked to isolate ourselves and our identities when coming to work. This thought process is a barrier in generalizing the lessons learned into other facets of our lives. I have found the most success when I have challenged myself personally and professionally and focused on myself in a holistic manner - it’s all about balance.
